Claude Team plan for scientists — Promotional Offer Terms and Conditions
1. The Promotional Offer
This promotional offer (the "Promotion") offers eligible labs and research groups the Claude Team plan for scientists (the "Plan") at the promotional seat prices shown at sign-up (the "Promotional Pricing") for the Promotional Period described in Section 4. As of the Promotion launch, Promotional Pricing is $0 per Standard seat per month and $15 per Premium seat per month, or $0 and $180 per seat per year on annual billing. Prices exclude applicable taxes.
These Promotional Terms are Supplemental Terms under Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service (the "Terms").
2. Eligibility and verification
The Promotion is available only to accounts that meet the Plan's eligibility requirements. As stated on the program page, principal investigators (PIs) or equivalent at accredited universities and nonprofit research institutes working in the natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, engineering, and related fields are eligible to apply.
For-profit companies, contract research organizations, and industry R&D teams are not eligible.
Once a PI is verified, the PI may add members of their lab (including post doctorates, graduate students, and researchers) to the Plan. A Plan may have between 1 and 25 seats.
Eligibility is verified at sign-up. Anthropic determines eligibility in its sole discretion and may refuse or revoke the Promotion for any account that does not qualify, or that obtained the Promotion through inaccurate or incomplete information.
To redeem the Promotion you must have an Anthropic account, be located in a region where the Plan is available, and provide a valid payment method. The Promotion is limited to one Plan per lab, has no cash value, is non-transferable, and cannot be combined with any other offer, discount, or credit program unless Anthropic states otherwise at sign-up.
3. Enrollment cap and availability
Promotional Pricing is available to an initial group of 10,000 Scientists who sign up and are verified while the Promotion is open. Scientists who signed up for the Claude Team plan for research labs will be automatically eligible for the Promotional Pricing and moved to the new Plan. Once the cap is reached or the Promotion closes, Anthropic may offer the Plan to new sign-ups at different pricing. The Promotion is available for a limited time and may close at any time.
4. Promotional Period; existing subscribers
If you qualify for the Promotion, Promotional Pricing applies for 12 months beginning on the later of (a) your sign-up date and (b) the Promotion launch date (the "Promotional Period"). After the Promotional Period ends, pricing will be at the then-current pricing as described in Section 5.
If you have already subscribed to the Team plan for research labs before the Promotion launch date, your plan will automatically change to the new Team plan for scientists and Promotional Pricing applies automatically to charges that come due on or after the Promotion launch date. Promotional Pricing does not apply to any payment made before the Promotion launch date, and no refund, credit, or proration will be issued for amounts already paid, including prepaid annual subscriptions.
5. Billing, usage, and renewal
Seat fees. Plan seats are flat-rate seats, and the Promotion discounts the seat fee only. Your payment method will be charged the Promotional Pricing for each billing period during the Promotional Period in accordance with the Terms.
Extra usage. Usage beyond the allocation included with a seat is billed separately at Anthropic's then-current standard rates and is not discounted by the Promotion. The Promotion applies to the Plan only and does not apply to the Claude Developer Platform (API) or any other Anthropic product.
Material terms disclosed at purchase. The Promotional Pricing, the Promotional Period, the price that applies after the Promotional Period, and the conditions in Sections 6 and 7 under which Promotional Pricing may end early will be presented before you submit payment information and repeated in your application acceptance email.
Renewal at then-current pricing. Unless you cancel before the end of the Promotional Period, your Plan will automatically continue and your payment method will be charged the then-current price for the Plan on a recurring basis until you cancel. Anthropic will notify the account's admin by email before the Promotional Period ends.
How to cancel. To avoid being charged at the standard price, cancel before the last day of the Offer Period. If you cancel during the Offer Period, you’ll keep access to the Claude Team Plan until the next billing period.
6. Active-use requirement
The Promotion is intended for labs that actively use Claude. If your Plan account has no Qualifying Usage for 90 consecutive days, Anthropic may end the Promotional Pricing for the account and (i) deactivate the account at the end of the then-current billing period or (ii) deactivate the account during the then-current billing period and issue a prorated refund..
"Qualifying Usage" means the submission of an Input to the Services under the Plan by you or a User, for which the Services generated an Output. Qualifying Usage does not include (i) requests that return an error or that the Services decline to process, including for violations of the Usage Policy, (ii) requests that do not involve model inference, such as authentication or billing management or logging in to the account.
7. Loss of eligibility; fraud
If Anthropic determines that an account no longer meets the eligibility requirements in Section 2, Anthropic may end Promotional Pricing and return the account to standard pricing for the Plan on the same notice as Section 6. If Anthropic determines that an account obtained or retained the Promotion through misrepresentation, fraud, or abuse (including creating multiple accounts or adding ineligible users to obtain additional discounted seats), Anthropic may end Promotional Pricing immediately and may suspend or terminate the account under the Terms.
8. Refunds
Except where required by applicable law, amounts charged under the Plan are non-refundable, and the end of Promotional Pricing under Sections 4, 6, or 7 does not entitle you to a refund or credit.
9. Changes and general
Anthropic may modify, suspend, or end the Promotion or these Promotional Terms at any time, including to correct errors. If Anthropic ends the Promotion, accounts already on Promotional Pricing keep it for the remainder of their Promotional Period, subject to Sections 6 and 7. The Promotion is void where prohibited. The Terms apply in full to the Plan.
